About Ty Mathry Cottage

Ty Mathry Cottage is one of a pair of semi-detached barn style properties situated in the heart of the popular village of Mathry with its pub, The Farmers Arms, serving good food.

The property is approached through an archway and nestles round the sheltered courtyard, which helps make the pretty, south facing, enclosed and paved, raised patio a veritable suntrap - perfect for a relaxing alfresco meal. The cottage is comfortably furnished throughout with open plan living space and a woodburning stove for chilly evenings, while the spacious bedrooms above with A frame beams have been prettily co-ordinated.

The newly opened Siop Fach Tearoom and Collectables in Mathry is where you can enjoy breakfast, light lunch or afternoon tea and also browse the many collectables; china and glassware, jewellery and souvenirs; Beswick, Masons, Shelley, Wades, Britains.

Conveniently located only a few minutes drive from the beautiful coves of Abercastle and Abermawr, this is a welcoming holiday retreat for those wishing to explore this rugged coastline.

No baby equipment supplied, but guests are welcome to bring their own.

The cottage is accessed on foot through a gravelled archway then up one shallow step through a pedestrian sized gate. The front door is accessed up three steep steps and is the only way into the property. There is a “lip” at the front door. On the ground floor there is a hallway with stairs leading off and a glazed door to the open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area. The flooring is solid quarry tiles with a large rug in the lounge area giving good colour contrast to doorways floors and walls. The fireplace in the lounge has no fireguard. The kitchen has a breakfast bar with two high stools and a low-level gas oven. TV and entertainment equipment in the lounge are operated by remote control. The upstairs is accessed via a curved staircase with carpet. There is a banister on one side. The upstairs contains two bedrooms with carpeting and light walls with sloping ceiling each side. In the bathroom, the ceiling slopes over the bath. The room has good natural light. The courtyard garden is totally enclosed, private and gated. It is all paved. The cottage does not have its own outside lights but a public light sheds light continuously over all access areas. Public transport (bus to Fishguard/St Davids is approximately 50 metres away at the top of the village green with a bus shelter).
